얼마 전 2022 아벨상 수상자가 발표되었다!
올해는 Dennis Sullivan 선생님께서 수상하셨다.
for his groundbreaking contributions to topology in its broadest sense, and in particular its algebraic, geometric and dynamical aspects
요즘 공부하고 있는 것들 중 Sullivan 선생님께서 작업하신 결과들이 많아서인지, 괜스레 반가웠다. 2주 전 Stony Brook에 있는 Simons Center for Geometry and Physics에 학회 들으러 갔을 때 Sullivan 선생님을 뵈었기도 했다.
2020년에는 Gregory Margulis 선생님과, Hillel Furstenberg 선생님께서 수상하셨는데, 올해도 내가 공부하는 분야에서 수상하셔서 이것저것 찾아보다 보니 내가 잘 모르던 Sullivan 선생님 업적까지도 알게 되어서 좋았다.
May 25th, 2022가 Abel lecture인데, 사실 3월 25일로 착각해서 블로그 포스팅을 안하고 있다가 5월 25일인걸 깨달았다...
5월 말에 Abel lecture도 들어봐야지.
